Elk Creek Campground & RV Park Office |
The campground has about 14 small cabins, 50 RV sites, and plenty of tent camping. Amenities include large, clean restrooms and showers, a laundry facility, an arcade, tv/rec room with wifi, and a small trout pond for kids. The campground was clean but noisy due to the close proximity of the campsites and the number of children running around on the roads.

We chose this campground because of its closeness to the west entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park and because reviews boast of moose and elk visiting the campground. When we checked-in we were asked to sign a waiver due to wildlife being recently spotted in the area. A bull moose and young black bear had been visiting the campground just days before we arrived. When we asked where the bull moose had been seen, the owners told us that it was last seen in our site. This made us a little nervous and excited all at the same time. Unfortunately, the only moose or elk we saw during our trip were well within the Rocky Mountain National park borders and we didn't see one bear. Gman's new bear bells must have scared them off!

Although we enjoyed our stay at Elk Creek we both decided that if we were to return to Grand Lake we would try another campground north of Elk Creek called Winding River Resort.
